Vegetarianism.
Ayurveda is scientific and in the ancient texts observations are made of the benefits of all the plant and animal kingdom.
In an attempt to be purely objective I advise students to avoid beef and pork because these are indigestible. Food which is not digested produces ama, free radicals and blockages in the channels of the body and hence serious imbalances which result in disease. Whenever I say this I see rows and rows of sheep saying “we also want to live”. This is a bit disconcerting for me.
Animals today live under seriously cruel conditions which are hard to stomach emotionally and physically.
All the listed benefits of eating animals and birds may be easily replaced with the plant kingdom. There are myriad medicines in nature, in fact thousands. There is no one cure for any ailment.
There is no real danger in changing to a vegetarian diet and immediate relief and improvements are found by most people.
I do not have much knowledge of Eskimos but I presume they can digest raw seal.
We should eat what we have traditionally eaten and what we are able to digest.
Dairy products are essential for mankind and very important for the brain. Honey is a powerful medicine. We can benefit enormously from these creatures and therefore treat them kindly. Calf does not need to be taken away from the cow.
